AKTU SGPA calculator

Course Grade Credits Action

The formula for SGPA calculator AKTU

\[ \text{SGPA (Si)} = \frac{\sum (C_i \times G_i)}{\sum C_i} \]

Where

  1. Ci is the number of credits of the i th course
  2. Gi is the grade point scored by the student in the i th course.

Example of SGPA Calculation

Computation of SGPA of odd semester Illustration No.1

Course/Subject Credit Letter Grade Grade Point Credit Points
Course 1 5.5 A 9 5.5 × 9 = 49.5
Course 2 4 E 4 4 × 4 = 16
Course 3 5 A+ 10 5 × 10 = 50
Course 4 3 B 7 3 × 7 = 21
Total 17.5 136.50
Thus, \[ \text{SGPA} = \frac{136.5}{17.5} = {7.80}\% \]

Computation of SGPA of even semester Illustration No.2

Course/Subject Credit Letter Grade Grade Point Credit Points
Course 1 5.5 A 9 5.5 × 9 = 49.5
Course 2 4 E 4 4 × 4 = 16
Course 3 5 A+ 10 5 × 10 = 50
Course 4 3 B 7 3 × 7 = 21
Course 5 3 F 0 3 × 0 = 0
Total 20.5 136.5
Thus, \[ \text{SGPA} = \frac{136.5}{20.5} = {6.65}\% \]

APJAKTU YGPA Calculator

Yearly Grade Point Average (YGPA) shall be calculated at each year by calculating from the formula as given below, whether the candidate has been passed or failed. \[\text{YGPA} = \frac{{(SGPA_{\text{odd}} \times \sum C_{\text{i(odd)}}) + (SGPA_{\text{even}} \times \sum C_{\text{i(even)}})}}{{\sum C_{\text{i(odd)}} + \sum C_{\text{i(even)}}}}\]

Where

  1. Ci is the total number of credits offered in that semester,
  2. Si is the SGPA earned in the ith semester

Illustration for YGPA

Suppose we have odd and even SGPA which is 1st and 2nd semester. A student or candidate got 7.80 SGPA for Odd semeseter or 1st semester. For even or 2nd semester, he/she got 6.65 SGPA.

And the total credits for Odd or 1st semester was 17.5 and the seconds or even semester, he/she has the total credits was 20.5.

Now the total credits 17.5+20.5 is 38.

\[\text{YGPA} = \frac{{(7.80 \times 17.5) + (6.65 \times 20.5)}}{{(17.5 + 20.5)}}\]

First, perform the multiplications and additions in the numerator:

YGPA = (136.5 + 136.32) / 38

Now, divide the numerator by the denominator:

YGPA ≈ 272.82/38 ≈ 7.33

So, the value of YGPA is 7.33

As we know, the student was failed in course 5th of semester 2 and he/she reappeared that course and got below score.

Course/Subject Credit Letter Grade Grade Point Credit Points
Course 5 3 C 6 3 × 6 = 18

Ci (First Attempt) + Ci (Subsiquent Attempt) = 136.5 + 18 = 154.5

Thus, the SGPA for second semester would be 154.5/20.5 = 7.53

Semesters SGPA Credits Action

The formula to calculate CGPA in AKTU

\[\text{CGPA} = \frac{\sum (C_i × S_i)}{\sum (C_i)} \]

Where

  1. Ci is the total number of credits offered in that semester,
  2. Si is the SGPA earned in the ith semester

Example of CGPA Calculation

Semester Credits SGPA Credit × SGPA
Semester I 17.5 7 17.5 × 7 = 122.5
Semester II 20.5 7.53 20.5 × 7.53 = 154.36
Semester III 21.0 9.2 21 × 9.2 = 193.2
Semester IV 21.0 6.86 21 × 6.86 = 144.06
Semester V 21 8.18 21 × 8.18 = 177.78
Semester VI 21 7.73 21 × 7.73 = 162.33
Semester VII 20 8.68 20 × 8.68 = 173.6
Semester VIII 18.0 9.4 18 × 9.4 = 169.2
Total 160 1297.03
Thus, \[ \text{CGPA} = \frac{1297.03}{160} = {8.11}\% \]

Grade Points, Letter Grade, and Marks

AKTU CGPA to Percentage Converter

As per the document, the formula was approved from the session of 2018 - 2019 and the official link of AKTU, Lucknow. This document is for Undergraduate course (B. Tech) on AICTE Curriculum.

The Formula:

The formula to convert CGPA to percentage is straightforward:

\[ \text{Percentage} = (\text{CGPA - 0.75)} \times 10 \]

For example, if the CGPA is 8.7, then the percentage would be:

\[ \text{Percentage} = (8.7 - 0.75) \times 10 = 79.50\% \]

SGPA to Percentage Calculator

To convert SGPA to percentage, you can use the same formula of CGPA to percentage converter. Just put SGPA instead of CGPA and formula will remain the same. The Formula, \[ \text{Percentage} = (\text{SGPA - 0.75)} \times 10 \]
